First Impressions | OPI Nail Envy

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to try OPI Nail Envy, everyone talks about it, everyone raves about it. It always seemed so expensive and I’ve always love my current base coats so I’ve never splashed out.

Over Christmas BeautyBay.com hosted a Christmas giveaway and I was lucky enough to win a bottle. To be honest, it was fabulous timing as my current base coat had just ran out! I haven’t had a chance to use this over a long period of time, so I thought I’d just share a first impressions post. OPI Nail Envy instructs you to put on two coats of Nail Envy at the beginning of the week and then apply a single coat every other day. OPI claim that this polish will strengthen your nails and give you ‘nails to envy’. So I applied the Nail Envy as a base coat and then completed the rest of my nail routine as normal. I’m the worst person at keeping a manicure for more than a couple of days, so I only managed to place a second round of Nail Envy on that manicure. What I can say for sure is that this helped my nail polish last longer; it felt like this stuff was super strong. Normally I can apply my nail polish and then basically peel it off my nails, it falls off and goes everywhere, but this really made my polish stick to my nails, it wasn’t going anywhere!

Now for the strange bit, I’m not sure if my mind is playing tricks on me, but my nails feel instantly better?! They feel stronger and harder already and I’ve only applied three coats of Nail Envy? I’m going to investigate this further and come back to you guys with a new post in the near future.  Is Nail Envy really that good?
