When Life Gets Too Much | Hallmark Health Club & Spa

Sometimes life just gets too much and you just need to get away, so on Thursday night we booked a spontaneous trip to Bournemouth, just to get away from Southampton for one night. We had a look around at different places and found the Hallmark Health Club and Spa. It was really reasonably priced, £150 included a three course meal for dinner, breakfast and complimentary use of the spa and pools on site. The hotel was beautiful, had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were fantastic.

We left Southampton around 1 o'clock on Friday afternoon and arrived in Bournemouth just after 2, checked into the hotel and then headed to the beach. Bournemouth is a place Chris and I have been a few times in our relationship, it's always nice to go back. The weather was stunning and it was so nice to walk along the beach in the water, even if it was pretty windy! We walked all the way down to the central part of the beach, were we bought some rock to take home for our friends and a yummy ice cream! We always take a walk down the pier and "Pick A Duck" which is filled with nice memories.

We wandered back down the hotel, had a snack and headed to the spa. The spa was really nice, Chris and I have been to a few different spas in the past and it was amazing that this one was free to use. It had a pool, with a heated part and also a hot tub. A relaxation room, aromatherapy room, steam room and sauna. It had mood lighting, which made it quite dark, which was perfect for entering your own little world of relaxation.

After visiting the spa we went back to the room to get dressed for dinner, the restaurant in the hotel was really nice and the food was exquisite. I had tomato and mozzarella bruschetta for starter, 10oz rib eye steak for main and the chocolate trio for dessert. Chris got the chicken skewers, followed by steak and then rice pudding. I also had the nicest Rose wine I've ever tasted, I wish I had jotted down the name of it!

By the end of dinner it was around 10pm, so we just went back to the room and chilled, we'd been sat next to a group of around 20 women at dinner who were drunk and screaming all through dinner, so it was nice to hear silence!

In the morning we were treated to a great selection of breakfast, which was the same great quality that dinner had been. We couldn't resist a second trip into the spa before checking out of the room to come home! I was really sad to leave the hotel, it had been lovely and I wished we could have stayed for a whole week!

The rest of the weekend was spent full of birthday celebrations, as Chris turned 22. We had a lovely BBQ with all our friends old and new and had a great day. I really recommend the Hallmark Health Club in Bournemouth, definitely check it out if you're looking for somewhere to stay
