In the last few months I’ve really been enjoying getting to know Lancôme. Although I’ve always admired them from a distance, I’ve never really explored any of their products. After trying their Juicy Shakers and Teint Idole Ultra 24h Foundation earlier this year, I added Lancôme to my mental “must experiment more” beauty list. So I was really excited to get the chance to try this latest release, which has lots of beauty bloggers (me included) very excited!
This season Lancôme has invited Parisian designer Olympia Le-Tan, to create a fun, exciting collection, which they have named ‘Olympia’s Wonderland’. The collection features pretty quirky detail and joyful colours, which oozes feminine style. The collection is based around an emblematic angel on a cloud, leafing through a novel. The emblem is pink and pretty, paired with subtle shades from the rainbow. The angel runs throughout the whole collection, including the Cushion Highlighter by Lancôme*, which I have here.
The Cushion Highlighter by Lancôme arrives in a light pink box, which is finished with simple black lettering. The box is then decorated with pretty emblems from the collection, which I just think is so pretty and fun. When you pop out the Cushion Highlighter, you find a black compact, which has the angel emblem sitting on the top. The emblem is actually made of fabric, which is pretty unique and special – I’m just petrified of getting it dirty. What I love is that the compact is actually reusable, so once you use up the highlighter, you don’t have to throw the compact in the bin!
Once you pop open the lid you find the classic Lancôme powder puff, which is black and finished with gold lettering. Then there’s another lid that you pop open to reveal the highlighter. It actually looks a lot like foundation in the pan, but rest assured, once you apply, it’s actually a very pretty highlighter shade. The colour is a lovely silver-pink, which adds a pretty gleam to the cheekbones – it’s beautiful.
The Cushion Highlighter by Lancôme is priced at £30, which is pricey, but I love that you can reuse the special compact afterwards, which makes it a bit more affordable. It’s available right now and surprisingly, it’s yet to sell out! You can get your hands on it from the Lancôme website here.
