Pop Illusion by YSL | Spring Makeup 2018

I absolutely love this time of year in the beauty world, whilst the rest of the world is stuck in pre-spring limbo, us beauty geeks are being spoiled with beautiful springtime products which make our heart flutter! I've been rocking spring nail hues and dewy bases for weeks now, so I'm pumped for the sun to come out and brace us with its presence! One of the brands that really got me excited this February is YSL, oh yes, they have one hell of a stunning beauty campaign for springtime! The collection is all about psychedelic brightness, bringing us a real kaleidoscopic of colours, that will really break us out of our comfort zone.

Yes, it's time to say hello colour, with an array of acid bights, inspired the horizon and city hues that we all love at this time of year! All the imagery for the campaign is captured by celebrated photographer Craig McDean and the star of the show is Staz Lindes, YSL Beauté ambassador. The makeup is almost futuristic in its composition, bring clashing brights and above everything else, vivid colour.

The collection has an amazing array of products, from lip palettes and nail polishes, but I want to show you something very special indeed. It's the YSL Acid Brights Couture Collector Palette* (£42.50) and it is BEAUTIFUL! I have to say, there is something so special about the gold YSL packaging arriving in the post, it just makes my heart flutter. However, when you pull this beauty out of the box, it really has to be seen to be believed. The front of the palette is finished with mirage of blues with accents of pink. It's honestly a work of art and you honestly can't take a bad picture of it!

When I popped open the palette, at first it scared me a little bit! The shades had me a little bit worried, but the more I looked at it and the more I played, the more I realised how wearable and beautiful it is! The whole palette is underpinned by a solar gold highlighter, which can be used on its own for a gentle wash of colour that beckons Spring. The rest of the colours are there to add a pop of acid brightness to shock and awaken the senses. There are pretty blues, both one light and one dark, which add a daring pop of colour, whilst the rose-pink is a gentle nod to normality, for the days when you're feeling a little less bold.

The YSL spring collection is strictly limited edition and won't be around for long, so if you feel the need to unleash your experimental side, don't hang around!
