I can’t remember the first time I heard someone rave about the ‘Take The Day Off’ range from Clinique, but I can tell you I’ve heard plenty of positive reviews since. We all crave for our make to last that little bit longer, whether it’s the foundation that doesn’t budge, or the mascara that doesn’t smudge. However, this means that we’re all left with a bit of a dilemma when it comes to taking the makeup off again. Clinique invested the ‘Take The Day Off’ range to fix that exact issue, helping to remove stubborn makeup, without dragging and stretching the skin.
The ‘Take The Day Off’ range features lots of products in lots of different formulations. Whether you want an oil formulation, a milk formulation or even someone especially for your eyes, they have something for you! The most famous of the bunch is probably the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm*. As you would expect, it’s a balm formulation, which turns to oil as it’s massaged over skin. It’s a power house for sweeping away impurities and easily dissolving all makeup, including those enhanced with an SPF. As it breaks down the makeup, mix in the water, which turns the oil into a milky emulsion to rinse off the skin.
The ingredients inside the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm are rich, each with their own specific purpose. For example, the Safflower Seed Oil breaks up the natural oil found on the skin and dissolves makeup. The Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride & Palmitate help to trap moisture in the skin so that it doesn’t dry out.
To use the balm, you scoop out a 10p sized amount of product into your hands. You then need to use your fingertips on DRY skin to massage the formula into your makeup. I’ve then been using a hot, damn Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Cloth*, to remove all traces of the balm and my makeup from my face, using circular motions on the skin. Then you’re done, simply ensure you’ve rinsed the skin well and then pat dry!
I really love the Take The Day Off from Clinique and I find when I use the range, my skin is cleaner and much clearer from imperfections! One of my other favourites is Take The Day Off Lids, Lashes & Lips – this beauty removes all traces of mascara and glitter eyeshadow so quickly, I can’t live without it!
