Believe The Hype: Urban Decay Naked Heat

If you’ve always loved the Naked palettes from Urban Decay, but craved a little bit more colour, you’re going to love this new palette. The latest release takes the Naked palettes in a whole new direction, offering the most shade-driven Naked palette in the collection.

The Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette brings flame, fire and heat to your makeup draw. Offering a hot new neutral palette, but with an exciting red twist. This new palette offers a whopping 12 new shades, which are all amber-hued neutrals. The palette has everything you need, from browns, to oranges and rich reds. There’s a lovely mix of both matte hues and shades with shimmer and bronzed finishes – which means you can create a real mixture of looks. The quality of the eyeshadows in the Naked Heat Palette is just as we’ve come to expect from the brand. Beautiful pigmentation, effortless blending and of course very little fallout. Of course, being Urban Decay, the shades all have genius names to match their shades. Some of my favourites include En Fuego (a matte red) and Scorched (which is a metallic deep red with gold shimmer).

As with all the Naked Palettes, the attention to detail on this release is phenomenal. The packaging has been designed to open up like a match box, with an illustration of matches on the inside. The matches range from ‘box fresh’, to burnt to a crisp – which gives you a little indication of the inspiration for the palette. The top of the palette is a rich orange shade, which Urban Decay say has been designed to “seem as if you’re looking through vertical blinds into a sunset”. All the details just carry ‘heat’ theme is carried a little further, before opening up the palette and revealing the shades inside.

The palette comes with a huge mirror and a double-ended brush, which gives you the ability to craft makeup looks, wherever you may be! What I always love about the Naked Palette is that the brush is actually useful and not just a waste of space. As it’s a clever double-ended design, with a Blending Brush on one side and a Detailed Crease Brush on the other! All-in-all it’s another incredible release from the genius Urban Decay team, but did we really expect any different? I love that this release was timed for Autumn, just when we’re all craving a little more colour in our makeup. The palette launched in July 2017 and is available now from all Urban Decay retailers for £39.50.
