I’ve always been a fan of Tanya Burr’s cosmetic line and fondly being wowed by the collection when it first launched. The line offers good quality cosmetics, which follow some of the hottest trends, but don’t break the bank! Perfect for Tanya’s fans, but also those of us who just love a makeup bargain (who doesn’t?!).
The Tanya Burr Cosmetics team have launched a sneaky extra collection, just slipping in before the Christmas rush. The new release is named the ‘Selfie Story Collection’, which Tanya has said has been two years in the making! The new range is made up of three lovely products, which are all made to make your eye makeup a little more swish. All three of the products are packaged in lovely swish packaging, featuring a luxe gold base, finished with pretty black lettering. It’s incredibly pretty and far out performs its price tag.
Selfie Sculpt Brow Pencil*
One of my favourite things to test and trial is eyeshadow pencils! I’m not particularly skilled with my eyebrows, so for me they just need to be fool proof. As with most other brow pencils on the market, the Selfie Sculpt Brow Pencil is double ended – on one side you’ll find the pencil and on the other, you’ll find the spoolie brush. The shape of the pencil is very similar to the Hourglass Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil, which essentially is a rectangular shape. These shapes are quite handy, as you can either fill the bulk of the brow with the flat edge, or use the edge to do smaller brush strokes. The Selfie Sculpt Brow Pencil is available in three shades, which hopefully covers a broad range of skin tones.
Selfie Flick Eyeliner*
I’m not the biggest eyeliner fan, as it’s just not something I use on a daily basis, but the Selfie Flick Eyeliner is very interesting. The Selfie Flick Eyeliner has a very long handle, which is designed to give you lots of control over application. It also has a long thin brush, which is actually a little bit flexible. What I like the most is the formulation, it’s a jet-black colour, which dries quickly on the skin and doesn’t smudge or move around on the eye.
Selfie Lash*
I was really excited to try Selfie Lash as Tanya always has incredible lashes, so I thought this would not disappoint. When you unscrew the lid, you find a long brush handle, which has a little rubber brush on the end. The brush is actually fairly small and is a long, thin design. The mascara brush is really flexible, which means you can get a lot of movement as you apply the mascara. Now I really like a dramatic lash and am naturally blessed with long lashes, so I really just need the volume. Whilst the mascara adds a lot of length, for me it takes two or three coats to build up to my desired effect. The good news is that it builds really well and you have perfect control over how much or how little to apply.
The Selfie Story is available online right now and is retailing at both Superdrug and Feel Unique. When you consider that everything is priced at less that £7, it offers really great value for money. I love the gold packaging of these, meaning they would make lovely stocking filler gifts this Christmas!
