5 Festival Survival Beauty Tips | 2017 Festival Edit

I cannot believe that we are already into festival season! With the Isle Of Wight already checked off the list and Glastonbury fast approaching, I’m sure that a lot of you are gearing up for some dancing in the sun! If you’re stuck on what to pack, stand by! I have five great festival beauty tips which will help you survive whatever the festival chucks at you!

Tip #1: Stay Fresh
There’s no denying that festivals can get pretty messy and I often find myself craving to feel clean. It’s really easy to pack yourself a selection of products to make yourself feel a little bit better. An absolute essential is a good hand sanitiser like the Merci Handy Hand Cleansing Gel* (£3 here). They are formulated created with vitamin E and Cleansing Pearls, which help leave your hands feeling both clean and soft. Another must have is some good face wipes and the Yes To Facial Wipes* (£1.99 from Feel Unique here) smell great, remove makeup and are packed in a tiny packet. When I feel hot and bothered during the day, I like to spritz myself with a water spray like the Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water Spray* (£7 here). It’s just one of those hero products which is rich is lovely ingredients and makes the skin more resistant to environmental aggressions.

Tip #2: Give Your Skin A Burst Of Moisture
You’re likely to be spending your week surrounded by dirt, grime and (hopefully) a hot sun. So it’s really important to continuously give your skin a really good burst of moisture. Starting with a good moisturiser like the new Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate* (£34 here) is a very good place to start. It offers the intense hydration of a rich moisturiser, in an addictive ultra-light water-gel texture that helps to leave skin looking instantly plumper, smoother, and more supple. For a burst of moisture during the day opt for the Hylamide Hyrda-Density Mist* (£15 here) – as it provides intense hydration in a lightweight mist formula. Simply spritz on the skin for immediate and lasting oil-free hydration for the skin.

Tip #3: Use A Dynamic Duo To Help Yourself Smell Good
It goes without saying that you’ll need some help to remain smelling good all weekend long. My favourite anti-perspirant is Sure Maximum Protection (£4.99 here) it is available in loads of different scents and it keeps sweat completely at bay. If you’re anything like me, you don’t fancy taking your glass perfume bottles to a muddy field, so I choose to take a handy body spray with me to festivals. The Yardley Body Fragrance in English Dahlia* (£2.49 here) is a lovely floral scent and it’s perfect for chucking in your handbag.

Tip #4: Keep Your Hair In Check
Now I have to say that keeping my hair looking good is one of my biggest tasks, but I have some amazing products that helps to make that possible. It goes without saying that the first thing you need is a good dry shampoo, my favourite is by COLAB* (£3.99 here). You simply spray this into your air and it instantly absorbs grease and oil, without leaving any residue in the hair. If you want something a little more portable I love the Bumble and Bumble Pret A Powder* (£23 here from Feel Unique). The little pot of powder is perfect as it’s made from equal parts dry shampoo, style extender and volume – everything you need for festivals! Another hair hero for volume is the Charles Worthington Texturising Spray* (£6.99 here) – it’s a lovely formula that gives height, texture and volume in a single spritz.

Once you’re a couple of days into the festival you’ll need to bring out the big guns! The Toni & Guy Hair Perfume* (£8.25 here) can help to give your hair a new lease of life, by adding a burst of pretty scent and a lovely shine. If you’re anything like me you’ll need to swap from a pretty wave, to a handy up-do. My favourite hairbands are by Popband London* (£8 here from Feel Unique) they don’t leave a kink in the hair and these neon colours are perfect for any party!

Tip #5 – You Can Never Have Too Much Glitter
Glitter is everywhere this season and I’m totally on board with the craze! For the skin I highly recommend the St.Tropez Instant Tan Finishing Gloss* (£12 here). It’s a fantastic quick-fix if you don’t have time to tan – the lightweight gloss applies evenly to the skin for a touch of bronze and a lasting glossy effect.

For the face I’m loving the new collection of bronzers from Bourjois – as there is literally something for everyone. My favourite one is Bourjois Contouring Illusion* (£7.99 here) as one side has a handy bronzer and the other has a really pretty highlighter. Now for the real stamp of glitter, I had to include the Stila Glitter & Glow Eyeshadow in Rose Gold Retro* (£23 from Feel Unique here). These eyeshadows are just incredible and they really transform any makeup look in an instant. The water-based glitter eyeshadow is packed to the brim with glitter pigment and they do not budge, ALL DAY! Finally I have the Sleek Matte Me Metallic Lip Creams* (£4.99 here) which are going to take your makeup look to a whole other level. The original Matte Me shades have been given a metallic twist, offering three luminous shades which give you a foil-like finish!
