Innovative Tanning On The Highstreet | Sunkissed

I harp on a lot about sun safety, it’s something I feel incredibly passionate about and it’s something I’ll never stop talking about. It’s not just something I safe for my blog rants either, I find myself telling everyone I know. Whilst I’m happy being a (very) pale shade of ivory, I know that a lot of people crave that sunkissed look, which laying out in the sun provides. The truth of the matter is – we don’t have to lay out in the sun anymore to get a decent tan. Fake tanning has come a very long way, so much so that you can get decent tanning products on the highstreet, at teeny tiny prices.

Sunkissed is a British born, tanning brand, who specialise in being the “perfect tonic” for achieving that sunkissed glow. Their range of tanning products have won multiple awards and has fans all over the country. This spring Sunkissed have undergone a little bit of a makeover and has some fancy new packaging. The new colour scheme is very modern, featuring gold tubes, with features of pink, purple and teal, which feels sophisticated and elegant. Sunkissed pride themselves on creating a formula for everyone, with more textures and formulations than you can shake a stick at! They cover everything from a natural looking glow, to a more intense tan – so you can bet your bottom dollar that they have you covered.

Sunkissed Body Primer
I’ve actually never come across a product like the Body Primer* before, but it sounds absolutely amazing! This is an exfoliating product that is dubbed to be the “pre-tan essential”. It has a combination of fruit AHA’s and other natural exfoliants, which will rid your skin of dead skin cells. It means you have a base for your tan which is fresh and healthy – meaning you are more likely to get a streak free tan and it will last longer! The Body Primer retails for £4.

Sunkissed Self-Tan Mousse
The Self-Tan Mousse* is available in two shades (light and medium). It’s designed to be your “self-tan hero” by being easy to apply and very light-weight on the skin. Sunkissed say that the mousse dries instantly and gives you an instant colour. The tan then develops over the next 4-6 hours and can last up to five days. The Self-Tan Mousse retails for £5.

Sunkissed Gradual Tan
As a self-tanning novice, I always opt for a gradual tan, as I find them the least scary option. The Sunkissed Gradual Tan* is available in two colour options: Light/Medium and Medium/Dark. This is actually a tanning lotion, which has been designed with Shea Butter and Vitamin E to be moisturising on the skin. You simply apply this to the skin and it soaks in straight away – your skin feels silky smooth and hydrated, with a bronzed glow. The Gradual Tan develops over 4-6 hours and can last up to 5 days. The Gradual Tan retails for £5.

Sunkissed Rapid Tan
The Rapid Tan* is currently available in one shade, which is called medium. This one is all about bring you bronzed skin and bringing to you fast. The tan itself is a tinted mousse, packed with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E and it’s housed in an aerosol can. Sunkissed say that the mousse gives you an instant bronzed hue to the skin and the tan develops in just 60 minutes. The Rapid Tan retails for £5.

Sunkissed recommend applying all their tanning products with a tanning mitt. This ensures you get a better application and you avoid that tan-stained hand look that we all hate. They have two tanning mitts which will work wonders for helping you in the tanning process. All the formulations have been designed to be easy to apply and nourishing on the skin. They even have a lovely scent of coconut, which will have you dreaming of your holidays before you’ve even left! I’d love to know what you think of this brand, have you tried any of Sunkissed’s products before?
