I always eagerly await the latest collections from Paul and Joe, as not only are they guaranteed to rock all the latest trends, they always give me my serving of cute. The Spring collection is certainly no let down, with pretty pinks, corals and bronzed hues to get you through the sunshine. The spring collection is aptly named “makeup for love and romance” – a collection inspired by the colours of love, giving you everything for lips, cheeks and eyes. This year’s spring collection has everything from cat-shaped lipsticks and cases, through to pretty primers and it’s pretty hard to pick favourites.
Among the launches is the Face & Eye Colour CS collection, which is bound to have cat-fans jumping through hoops to get their hands on. It’s a set of three multi-use palettes, which are each decorated with a cat, surrounded by hearts. Each of the palettes features three different shades, which you can use individually or swish together for one complete look. The shades in each of the palettes are subtle, designed to enhance natural beauty, which is bang on trend this season.
You can use all three shades on the cheeks or the eyes, making them fantastic for your travel makeup bag. The powders in each palette are enriched with Jojoba oil, Orange Flower Water, White Lily extract and Rosa Roxburghii Fruit Extract – which creates a soft powder, suitable for even sensitive skin. I have the shade Poupounette (108)* (£25) which features the shades: Canal pink (a beautiful golden pearl), Cinnamon (hints of silver and gold pearl) and Cream (red, gold and pearl accents).
If you don’t know much about Paul & Joe, you won’t know that each of their products feature ‘refills’ and ‘cases’. Meaning that no matter what product you’re buying, you can customise it to your exact preferences. With each season, Paul & Joe release a selection of face, lipstick and eyeshadow cases, to reflect the seasons biggest trends. I’m in love with this Eyeshadow Compact (013)* (£7) from this season’s release - the soft pastel, floral design reminds me of Cherry Blossom trees, which has to be one of the best things in the world.
As I say, I just have two items from the “makeup for love and romance” spring collection, but there are lots more to choose from. If any of these products catch your eye, you can grab them from Beauty Bay (here) and Selfridges (here).
