Important date alert! March 26th is Mothers’ Day here in the UK, which means is rapidly approaching! If you’re finding yourself panicking about what to get the important woman in your life, calm down! I’m here with some beautiful gift ideas, from some of my favourite brands and there’s bound to be something she’ll love. Of course bouquets of flowers and chocolates are always well received, but if you want to go off-piste, this post is for you!
Keep her hands soft and maintained
Mum’s are always on-the-go and one of the areas that really shows how stressed and busy we are, are our hands! A simple way to get mum to treat herself, is to shower her with little things to give her hands a new lease of life! I recently featured the new revamped NIVEA hand creams here on Hope, Freedom, Love. They are super cheap but they feel special and nourishing. The smoothing formula of NIVEA Anti-Age Care Hand Cream* (£3.89 here) is enriched with coenzyme Q10 to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and help prevent UV-induced age spots. If you’re looking for something a bit more extravagant, I’m loving the Mary Kay White Tea and Citrus Satin Hands Pampering Set* (£32 here). This set comes in a lovely bag and has three lovely products inside. The indulgent set has been designed to instantly revitalises and rejuvenates the look of worn, dry hands for a healthier and more youthful appearance. Each of the products are enriched with a lovely zingy citrus and sweet white tea scent, which is perfect for this time of year!
Pamper her with bath and body gift sets
Gift sets are so perfect as they arrive ready to gift and are just a very easy gift! The good news is that these kinds of products don’t have to be expensive! The Baylis & Harding Pink Prosecco & Cassis Bath Set* (£10) arrives in a pink package which is decorated with rose gold and pink dots, it’s finished with a lovely bow which is so pretty. The set has five mini products inside including: hand lotion, bath cream, body lotion, body wash and shower crème. If you want something a little more expensive, the new Ted Baker Sugar Sweet Butterfly Kit for a Queen Gift Set* (£25 here) is spectacular. The set arrives in the most gorgeous beautiful vanity case which is decorated with butterflies, bows and rose gold details. When you unzip the case it explodes and there are loads of goodies inside, including a body wash, body spray, lip balm and body shimmer soufflé.
Gift her some ‘me time’ and create a little pamper hamper
One of my favourite things to do for people in my life, is to create them little pamper hampers and mother’s day is a great time to make one! Start with some skincare goodies, I recently fell in love with the Stress Check line from thisworks, which just feels so appropriate! There is the Stress Check Face Mask* which a face mask which you use in the mornings, when skin is at its most dehydrated. It’s a clever ‘emergency SOS treatment’ which calms irritated skin and restores balance to stressed complexions. There’s also the Stress Check Breathe In* which is a handy, compact spray which contains a soothing remedy, formulated to help you breathe more easily, calm your senses and reduce tension. Another fantastic gift idea is the whole skincare range from NIVEA – the Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream* (£10.49 here) replenishes the skin at night and supports skin’s ability to regenerate. The ingredients ensure that wrinkles are visibly reduced and dark circles are minimised, for skin that looks fresh and well-rested.
I then like to find a nice candle and lets be honest, there is a lot of choice out there! One of my favourites at the moment is the Liz Earle Damask Rose and Pink Pepper Candle (£40 here). It’s the most prettiest combination of white glass, which is decorated with a pink details! The candle itself is a lovely scent and it just helps you drift off and escape from the world. The blend of essential oils, fresh pink pepper and Turkish rose petals, is the perfect relaxation treat. The final thing I like to finish the pamper pack with is a pack of tea, of course this depends on Mum’s taste. However, Clipper Tea’s new range of Green Tea is just lovely. In particular I’m loving the Super Green Organic Detox Tea* (£2 here) which is a more mellow green tea, packed with a refreshing citrus burst, the fragrant boost of elderflower, nettle and fennel!
To make the pamper hamper even more heavenly, you could chuck in some bodycare items and I happen to think the new Olive line from DHC is beautiful! The Olive Corn Body Scrub & Polish* (£15.50 here) is a creamy, lightly foaming body scrub which dramatically cleanses, polishes and moisturises the skin. For something more luxurious you should check out the Olive Body Butter* (£17 here) - it’s a thick, high performance moisturiser, which is formulated with shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, squalane and argan oil!
Treat her to an experience she’ll never forget
This gift guide wouldn’t be a Hope, Freedom, Love gift guide without a beautiful voucher from Buy A Gift. This mothers day, Buy A Gift are doing something a bit special – they’ve joined forces with Breast Cancer Care’s ‘Mum of a Kind’ campaign to donate £12.50 from the sale of every Superwoman Smartbox* (£49.99 here) to the charity from 6th- 27th March. The Superwoman Smartbox offers mum over 1,000 gift experience options – from Afternoon Teas, Spa Days and Adrenaline Adventures. The money raised will help Breast Cancer Care continue to provide free services to anyone affected by breast cancer.
Speaking of Afternoon Tea, this Mother’s Day McDonald hotels is throwing the Mother of all tea parties for Mother’s Day this year. They are expecting over 100,000 cakes and sandwiches to be consumed. Stacked one on top of the other, the cake stands holding the tasty treats would be over four times the height of the world’s tallest building; the Burj Khalifa! If you want to join in the fun, there are five hotels that are adding extra luxury this Mother’s Day: Macdonald Randolph Hotel & Spa (Oxford), Macdonald Crutherland House Hotel (Lanarkshire), Macdonald Compleat Angler Hotel (Marlow), Macdonald Rusacks (St. Andrews) and Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa (Windermere).
