The latest addition from Max Factor is their Velvet Matte Lipstick Collection, dubbed to be a revelation in the matte lipstick industry. Max Factor say that their new lipsticks offer a no compromise approach to matte lipstick, citing that women today are accustomed to accepting the drying feel on their lips, when we simply don’t have to be! The new Velvet Matte Lipstick Collection offers dense pigmentation, in a formulation which feels moisturising, soft and on-trend. It’s time to ditch your beauty arsenal of lip scrubs, balms, and lipstick – you no longer need them to create the perfect matte lip! Get yourself to the high street ladies, as this could well be the lipstick you need this Valentines Day!
The Velvet Matte Lipstick Collection* was inspired by the Max Factor makeup artists, who each spend valuable time prepping the skin for the perfect matte lip. They wanted to create a product that didn’t need a heap of prepping and priming to get it right. The new collection of lipsticks feature a dense matte finish, with a creamy moisturising formula. What’s different about the Velvet Matte Lipstick Collection, is that it’s been designed completely differently to your traditional matte lipstick.
Instead of packing the matte lipstick with additional powders or solids, Max Factor used the same moisturising formula that is used in the Colour Elixir range. They then swapped the normal reflective pigment and replaced it with CF Mica – a finely milled natural mica, with an irregular structure which causes a matte effect. Normally the extra powders used in matte lipstick causes the product to drag and sit unevenly on the skin, by keeping powder to a minimum you create a lipstick that glides on the lip.
If the Velvet Matte Lipstick Collection wasn’t enough, Max Factor have also released the Colour Elixir Universal Lip Liner, which is a perfect accompaniment to your lipsticks. The Max Factor Colour Elixir Universal Lip Liner has a clear wax formula that creates a barrier to lock-in your lip colour, stopping bleeding and feathering. It matches every lip colour and works with every lipstick formulation – genius!
The new Velvet Matte Lipstick Collection is available now and you can pick from seven beautiful shades. I've swatch two of the lovely new shades for you here - on the left we have ‘Blush*’, which is Stella Maxwell’s (Max Factor Global Ambassador) favourite shade, and on the right we have 'Desire*' which is a deep red hue.
