When you're a beauty blogger, it's hard to believe there is a product out there that you haven't seen. Of course, in reality there are billions of products on the market and every so often one crops up and surprises you. Which is exactly what happened with my boyfriend surprised me with the Boscia Charcoal Pore Pudding. He'd been in the USA and nipped to Sephora to pick up some items on my wish list. Whilst he was there he decided to surprise me with some extras and the Charcoal Pore Pudding was one of them.
The Charcoal Pore Pudding is as exciting as it looks in the tub. Those black and white lines are not just the packaging, in fact they are layers of black and white charcoal. The layers created a two-part treatment which is designed to minimize the appearance of pores and balance the skin. Sadly as you apply the mask to the skin, you lose the pretty lines (I was hoping for a zebra finish on the skin) and it applies just like your average charcoal mask.
Thankfully, that's the only thing thats remotely average about this mask, as it really is something to write home about! It's a really indulgent and decadent face mask, it's intensely creamy and rich. As I mentioned, this decadent treatment is formulated with black and white charcoal. Kaolin Clay is added to the other charcoal for it's detoxifying and cleansing properties. The mask is created without parabens, sulfates and phthalates, free of preservatives, artificial fragrances and colours, gluten, and ethanol alcohol - so it's really free of all the nasties.
The mask is a real multi-purpose product, which means you can either use it a full facial or a spot treatment. The mask is designed to cleanse the skin and deeply detox pores without irritating the skin and it's completely on point. If I have some fresh blemishes the mask sometimes stings them, but it causes no pain or irritation on the skin. I have a really oily t-zone, so I like a mask that banishes the blemishes, but my cheeks are really dry so they often suffer from feeling a bit dry and puffy. However, this mask leaves your skin feeling really clean and pure, but it doesn't feel dry or dehydrated, it's truly everything I look for in a mask.
The sad news is that this is pretty hard to get your hands on here in the UK, but it's a must have for USA shopping lists, you can buy it from Sephora here.
